2024-2025 Weekly Notes

9/26/24

Hello CEEL Families,

  • Happy Fall!! With the cooler weather approaching, make sure your child has appropriate clothing to go outside. We go outside everyday unless it is raining.

  • As a reminder, the CEEL closes promptly at 5:30 p.m. each day. There is a late fee of $15 per student and you will be charged for any portion of 15 minutes after 5:30.

  • No CEEL at EP on Thursday, October 3rd.  If you are registered to attend inservice at EP or PF, you will receive an informational email ahead of time.

  • If your child is not signed up for inservice days and you would like to get on the waitlist, it will go live online at 10a.m. on Friday morning (10/4) in ASAP.  We cannot guarantee a spot but if other families cancel, spots may be available, and we will contact you to let you know.

9/19/24

Hello CEEL Families,

  • We have started a lost and found basket that we will be keeping inside of the airlock. Please check it out at pickup if your child is missing anything, as we already have quite a bit of items already.

  • One snack per day is provided before classes. We usually have a choice between a sweet or salty snack. Many students are still hungry throughout the afternoon. Please consider packing an extra nut-free snack in your child’s backpack and let your child know it’s there for them.

  • Please review the CEEL website and check out the CEEL calendar which lists important registration and closed dates.

9/12/24

Hi CEEL Families,

  • Everyone really enjoyed making puppets this week with Adam Shwartz. It was so fun to see all of the unique creations!
  • Next week, session 1 classes begin. Your child will have classes Monday through Thursday from 3:45-4:45.

  • Please be sure to include me on any emails to teachers or office staff if your child will not be attending CEEL on any given day.

  • A reminder that children are not able to go back to their classrooms after dismissal for any reason. If they have left something behind, they will have to retrieve it the following day.

9/5/24

Hi everyone! It has been so exciting to meet all of the students and parents/guardians! I am so thankful to have been welcomed so kindly! The pick-up routine is getting smoother every day as staff get to know the students and parents, so we truly appreciate your patience at the end of the day. I am looking forward to a great year at EP CEEL!

  • As part of our program, we occasionally show PG-rated movies. We understand that every family has different preferences regarding media content. If you prefer that your child not participate in watching PG movies, please reply to this message with your child’s full name. Alternative activities are always available during movie times.

  • If your child is not going to CEEL on any given day, please email me directly before 2pm at aps38@scasd.org even if you have already let your child’s teacher know.

  • As a reminder, the CEEL program closes promptly at 5:30 p.m. each day. Parents or guardians should arrive no later than 5:25 p.m so students have time to pack up their belongings before the program closes. There is a late fee of $15 per student and you will be charged for any portion of 15 minutes after 5:30. Please be able to provide an ID during pickup as new staff will be working at the pickup door during these first few weeks. Families will be unable to use the restroom, visit the classroom, etc. This is a liability issue and will be strictly enforced.

  • If you have any questions about payment, cancellations, schedule changes, or your account you can contact the Community Education office at (814)231-1061.

  • Adam Shwartz will be a guest provider next week (Sept. 9-12). All children will have the opportunity to have class with him.
